1. What is your current position title and what does it involve?
My current position is ‘Internal Sales Team Leader’.
In my role I cover the below:

Supervision. Managing the general sales team ensuring each member performs their duties effectively.

Updating of current sales targets to ensure we are doing everything to help the company reach their budget.

Track and Evaluate the performance of team members providing feedback and support where needed.

Motivate the team to achieve their targets and maintain high morale through recognition and incentives.

Schedule training events with staff and suppliers to improve the skills and performance of the sales team.
2. How long have you been with Heatleys and expand on your journey with the business?
I have currently been with Heatleys for 19 years.
I started my journey in 2005 where I began in the warehouse. I was employed as a store person where I undertook Goods Inwards duties. Within 3 months I was offered an internal sales position by the General Manager which I accepted with pleasure.
From there I have progressed through a range of different roles including, Sales Representative, Purchasing Officer, Training Coordinator, and now am back in my ‘happy place’ as Team Leader for the General Sales Team.
3. How has working with Heatleys enhanced your experience and expertise in the industry?
I began my journey at Heatleys with a decent amount of knowledge on Industrial products and terminology. Over the years, Heatleys has significantly expanded my knowledge, allowing me to confidently answer most customer and staff questions with ease.
4. What products/brands are of most interest to you and why?
The product that peak my interest the most is clothing. The technology and styles including the introduction of the Ladies range has provided the industry with a comfort level in uniforms which is incredible. The brand I look at as the industry leader is Bisley.
5. What is the most enjoyable aspect of your job?
I get immense satisfaction from seeing my team members hit personal goals and work together cohesively. When they succeed I feel very proud.
6. How different was Heatleys this time last year?
This time last year, we introduced many new processes across Warehouse Operations and Sales functions. Over the year, our online presence has expanded significantly, and we now have a large group of HUB customers ordering online.
7. What has been the most exciting development Heatleys has experienced?
The most exciting development would be our online HUB experience for our customers where they can place their own orders online and, in the future, track their own orders, and retrieve invoices. Giving the customers control creates a greater customer experience.
8. What are your visions and hopes for the future of Heatleys as a business?
My visions and hopes for Heatleys would be to continue to implement new cutting-edge technology enabling our customers to have an even greater experience. Would also like more training and development opportunities for staff enhancing their skills and job satisfaction.
